What I wanted from it
I wanted a steam mop that left floors actually clean, and on that one measure the Bissell delivered. I bought it in May 2025.
What went wrong
It did not last. The unit broke twice, across two separate mops, and the second one started leaking after about a week of use. I ran distilled water, as the instructions recommend, and it made no difference.
The verdict
The cleaning was good. Floors came out clean and felt it. But a cleaner that fails this fast is not one you can rely on, and between this and the Bissell air purifier I owned, I can’t recommend Bissell on durability.
What I like
- Cleaned well, floors came out clean
What annoys me
- Broke twice, across two separate units
- The mop started leaking after about a week
- Even running distilled water did not save it
Frequently asked questions
Does the Bissell spinning steam mop clean well?
Yes, and that is the frustrating part. It cleaned well, even using distilled water as recommended.
Why can't you recommend it?
It broke twice across two separate units, and the mop started leaking within about a week. Performance means nothing if it does not last.
