How I test, and why you can trust the verdict
Still Recommend exists because most product reviews are written by people who never lived with the thing. I do this the slow way: I buy the product, I use it in my own home for months, and I keep coming back to say whether I still recommend it.
What makes a review here different
Every review on this site is tied to a product I personally own. Before a review can even be published, it has to record what I paid, when I bought it, where I bought it, and a current verdict. There is no way around that; the publishing system rejects a review that cannot answer those questions. It is the one thing a spec sheet or a press loaner can never give you.
My process
- I buy it myself. No loaner units, no review samples, no arrangements with brands. I pay retail, like you would.
- I live with it. Real use, in a real home, for long enough to learn what the first week hides. Filters clog. Apps change. Batteries fade.
- I write down specifics. Numbers where I can measure them, honest observations where I cannot. If I did not test something, I say I did not test it.
- I come back. Products age. I re-test on a schedule and log what changed, so the verdict you read reflects today, not launch day.
The verdict system
Every review carries one of four standing verdicts, and I update it over time. The name of the site is the whole point: the question is always whether I still recommend it.
- Still recommend. Bought it, still use it, would buy it again.
- Recommend with caveats. Worth it for the right person, if you can live with the trade-offs.
- No longer recommend. It wore out its welcome. I would not buy it again.
- Returned. Sent it back. The review explains why.
